Un-riots, shukur

Two posts in one day! It must be a Thursday. Tomorrow is my day off and I look forward to seeing some very close family friends. My Khala and her family always remind me why I'm here and I adore her children (all 8 of them and the extended family members she raised through the various wars).

Yesterday, we received word of potential riots. I was quite nervous but nothing happened. An American colleague and I walked to an office about 10 minutes away and I was sure that we would be a target. Thankfully, no one bothered us and didn't even stare. In fact, a little boy went out of his way to show us the right way.

Perhaps I'll walk home today...

Heh. We got evacuated to a safe house because we had bad intelligence that there were demonstrations. Oh well.

Happy Thursday! I wonder how many of these riot scares you're going to have to go through? I hope you have a wonderful visit with your khala. Wear some bright colors and tell her I said hello!

VP: They say there will be demonstrations, starting from the University tomorrow - so be careful. there has been a heightened police presence so I think there must be some truth to the rumors.

PFR: Yeah, I am over the riot scares but there is another one tmw. I can't do anything but carry on with my day. I am wearing the pink shirt-dress (with pants) that you gave to me!!! She'll llove it!

Well now... I am all caught up with the blog after my world travels and let me say: this blog is a wonderful idea. I love having a way to check in on you and see how you're doing. I am glad that you're getting settled in and feeling better and you had better be as safe as possible or I will release my overly-practical wrath.

Sending hugs across the miles!
