Thanks!
Thanks for the birthday wishes. I really enjoyed last night. It was a lovely party, with lots of laughter and happiness. It made me a little sad though, it's so hard to be away from my family and friends. My aunt and uncle took a picture with me and I nearly started crying, I miss my parents and brother so much.

Oh pen, you are so right...Not to rub it in but the cake was goooood. ;)
I have to agree with Pen. luckily, I have BOTH powdered AND cinnamon donuts waiting for me on the breakfast table.
Pen: you're welcome to come share and we'll do a redo of your H. BDay rendition. I have some candles, too, that we can stick into the donuts.
Home in Kabul: We miss you, too, tons, Texas-size, McDonald's Biggie-size. Junk food Fast food is plentiful here and everytime I pull through a drive-thru, I think of our suburban jaunts. Till we meet again, I'll eat some Wendy's nuggets in your honor.
It's like three days after your birthday but have a very happy un-birthday today!!! And your cake looks deeeeeelicious. Edit your comments mam -- or your secret identity will be found out.
my dear, no matter how sad you might be you simply cannot post things on your blog like the one with the cake photo. You know full well how hungry we paper pushers can get when we sit behind a desk too long here in the US. It's like issuing a "free cake" alert (like we used to do at PHJW) and then yanking it away just as folks are sprinting into the office kitchen. Tsch. Tsch. You should know better.....
Big hugs. We miss you, too. Penelope
oooooh. i didn't realize that you have to be discreet with the name thing. i'm still new to this whole blog stuff. sorry!!!!
Pen,
No worries, I fixed it. :)
Happy happy - wish I could've been there to make you a cake this year ... My first time responding to a blog/attempting this thing called technology, but that's just how much I love and miss you ... And I enjoy your site a ton, as do my worrywort parents ("how is _________?")
Anonymous/K: I was just going to write, who is this? but now I see, my salams to you and your family...but K, you're going to have to write me an email and tell me who _________ is...
dear friend, i am glad you had a nice birthday celebration. i hope you saved me a piece. alas, i am still slaving away at the justice department working on FOIA requests for the masses... the things the masses want to know... me mum said they ought to mind their own business... i thought that was a hoot. anyhow, good day and take care.
Could not find your email....so I am making this post instead.

Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy biiiiirthday dearest . Happy biiiiiiiirthday to youuuuuuuu! (and, as usual, you have to sing all that in Penelope's out of tune screechy singing voice.) But truly, happy birthday chica. We're celebrating for you over here.
