Virginia Tech

I am horrified by the shootings at VT.

I don't know what else to say, except that I am keeping the families of the victims in my thoughts and prayers. I'm worried about my college-age friends and family also.

me too.

office colleague asked me about it this morning before I had read the online news.

horrified.

after reading the articles out there (there may be more info avail now - but not at that time) I was struck by the probability that gun ownership and domestic disputes are common enough in that part of the world that the initial morning shots did not cause more of a panic and lockdown than it did... if only...

and me too.

I was at the gym, on a treadmill, watching the hilarious and deliciously irreverent Bill Maher being interviewed by The View. They have about six screens up at the gym and I caught glimmers of action on the other screens but didn't pay attention. Then they went to commercial break and came back with the horrible news. There were probably 30 people in the gym, still walking or biking or whatever, but now grim and sad and silent, as if they were moving towards hell.

It's so awful.
